The Honors House is open from 8:30 - 11:00 p.m. extended by an hour!) through Thursday, and 8:30 - 2:30 p.m. (closing early for the CHP Graduation
Reception) on Friday.
Apply for Phi Kappa Phi Award by 7/14/08
Submitted by schmallr on May 7, 2008 - 8:40am. NewsBytes 5/5/08The Emerging Scholar Awards recognize outstanding rising sophomores studying at Phi Kappa Phi member institutions. Each year, Phi Kappa Phi will grant 60 awards in the amount of $250 to students who meet the following eligibility requirements:
* Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale;
* Have a minimum of 30 semester hours (or equivalent, excluding all AP, Credit by Exam, transfer credits, etc.) of academic credit; PLEASE NOTE: Students must have earned no more than a total of 60 semester hours (excluding all AP, Credit by Exam, transfer credits, etc.) during their post high school academic career.

Eligibility: Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent, Must have earned GPA 3.0. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico. Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year. REMINDER: Fulbright Information Session on 5/1/08

NewsBytes 4/28/08The Office of Scholarships for International Study has scheduled a 60-minute workshop focusing on student Fulbright grants for Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 3:30-4:30 in room 66 of the Library (enter down the stairs from Wright Street). The session is targeted to juniors, graduating seniors, and graduate students who wish to explore opportunities available under a Fulbright and ready materials for the Fulbright priority deadline of July 1, 2008. These scholarships support U.S. citizens for one year of study or research in any country where there is a Fulbright Commission. English teaching programs (some with minimal to no foreign language or teaching experience necessary) also are available. Students must begin working on their applications this summer to apply for funding for study, teaching, or research beginning in fall 2009.
